Day #380 - Endurance


Enduring through tough times.

Goals of the Day:
  • [Work] Figure out the plan and work distribution for Report writing

  • [Work] Write at least 5 pages of report

  • [Personal] Try install Android Studio on C drive again and see if the disk space is enough
    • Not Achieved
Was working late tonight.
So didn't do personal work.

Today's Small Wins:
  • Managed to get things in order for an ad-hoc change to meeting venue
  • Persevered at working on the report until 10pm
Today's Small Losses:
  • Didn't meditate/sleep on time
  • Didn't have time for personal tasks
Things I'm Grateful for Today:
  • Dearest's massages at the end of a hard day
  • A job that gives me money

Day #379 - Work Smart & Fast


I started out the day at home being productive while waiting for Dearest to get ready for work.
And I aimed to stay that way to accomplish my work goals in office.

Goals of the Day:
  • [Work] Submit my slides by 3pm
    • Not Achieved
  • [Personal] Have quality time with family/relatives
    • Not Achieved
  • [Personal] Download Android Studio in the larger drive and work through Lecture 5 again
    • Somewhat Achieved
Had a family emergency and had to rush to the hospital after work with Dearest instead of going back to my parents' place.
Not quality time spent, but definitely worth the time and effort to care for a relative.

Back at home, tried to install Android Studio in my larger drive, but the program couldn't run properly because it can't detect where some of the components are. I had trouble finding out what are the issues to tackle. I think it would be faster just to buy a bigger SSD and use it as my C drive. haha..

Today's Small Wins:
  • Submitted my slides before I left work
  • Went to care for a relative
  • Put in effort to tackle the android studio problem
Today's Small Losses:
  • Didn't meditate
  • Slept at 11.30pm (can do better)
Things I'm Grateful for Today:
  • Dearest willingness to travel all the way to Changi to visit grandma with me
  • Dearest's comfort after mini bouts of negative emotions
  • Being able to get a Grab fast

Day #378 - Make It Count

Goals of the Day:

  • [Personal] Work on Lecture 5 of Mobile App course

First official visitors of the house =)

Today's Small Wins:
  • Had a good mahjong session with guys at my house for the first time
  • Dealt with the stress of having visitors together with Dearest
  • Cooked a nice dinner
  • Worked on Lecture 5
  • Managed to free up some space on my C drive
  • Meditated for 10 minutes
  • Exercised (ran 2 km + 2 x 7 stations)
Today's Small Losses:
  • Slept late
  • Lost $10 at mahjong
Things I'm Grateful for Today:
  • Dearest's good wishes for us, and our families, during the early morning praying today that she went
  • Being able to play mahjong with the guys and laughed a bunch
  • Being able to be present with Dearest when she's troubled
  • Dearest's actions to present a good image of the house

It seems that my time management is not that good recently.
I need to set aside time to set priority tasks, schedule them, and follow through.

  • Remained clear on what needs to be done on office work

  • Bad habits; slept late and didn't meditate
  • Didn't do personal work
  • Didn't manage to confirm meet-up with the guys tml
  • Didn't manage to complete the slides today and start on the report
Things I'm Grateful for Today:
  • Dearest for being able to feel comfortable enough to have visitors
  • Some leisure time for myself this evening

Day #376 - Importance of Self-care

Had quite a bit of leisure time sitting in front of the TV today.
For the most bit, I was either doing work, exercising, or doing household chores.

Today's Small Wins:
  • Good habits (exercised, meditated)
  • Got quite a good deal for a Mahjong table with delivery
  • Did some heavy cooking and cleaned up the kitchen
Today's Small Losses:
  • Slept late
  • Didn't work on my financial work
  • Forgot about wugui and it peed on the floor
Things I'm Grateful for Today:
  • Dearest's constant accommodation for my diet preference, which inevitably restricts her food choices tremendously
  • Burnt injury from oil splatter on my hand wasn't that serious

Day #375 - Housework; Not noticed when it's done, Only noticed when it's missing


Sometimes I feel that my office work is like that.
In any case, it's housework day!
We aim to clear Bedroom 3!

We succeeded in clearing the room!
Left her shoes, the paint, and the vinyl flooring tiles.
Gotta clear them soon too!
Then I can set up my dart board >_<

  • Cleared Bedroom 3!
  • Singing session at home with Dearest while we did cleaning
  • Helped Dearest's brother with some questions on investing

Day #374 - Finishing the Race


I will push myself to finish this office work task.

Had a short interaction gaming session with my colleagues because one of them requested for it.
Therefore, I didn't go to badminton on time.
But I enjoyed both game =)

  • Drafted out the first set of slides in time for discussion with Project Lead
  • Had a good celebration with colleagues for a colleague's birthday
  • Quality time with colleagues and badminton friends
